The Recycling Process: Sorting & Exporting

The process of recycling textiles begins with the public who place their unwanted wearable clothes and shoes in BCR clothing banks throughout the country.

The Recycling Process: Sorting & Exporting

Full banks are emptied by BCR's own fleet and returned to BCR's headquarters in West Bromwich. The contents are weighed and the value is allocated to the council or waste management company.

Items are then sorted into different types of clothing, shoes and textiles. BCR uses predetermined categories to ensure that the best use is made of re-used and recycled garments, so that they can be delivered to the most appropriate locations worldwide.

Once separated into these categories, items are tightly packed and wrapped in protective transport bags.

Parcels are labelled and stored in BCR's extensive warehousing facilities before being despatched for shipping. We comply with current legislation for trans-frontier shipping.

"Our success is built upon the belief that we can make a difference while running a profitable orgranisation."
