BCR believes that the education of children is a vital aspect of its business since textile recycling will play an ever more important role in the lives of future generations.

Working with schools not only promotes the concept of textile re-use & recycling amongst pupils but may help to drive the message home to parents/guardians who are not currently using local textile recycling facilities.

Year groups are designated by the Activity Sheet Number (i.e.. Activity Sheet 1 is suitable for year 1).

Of course you may be as flexible as you like in the way you use these resources - some sheets will be suitable for more than one year group where links can be made to several areas of the curriculum or where individual pupils are at different levels of learning.

The reverse of each sheet has been used for teachers notes. These explain how each activity links to the curriculum.

They explain the objectives of the lesson, how the activity should be carried out, and any other preparation or resources that are required.

To enhance the educational value of this pack these activities may form part of your school recycling scheme with a view to building awareness of recycling policies amongst pupils, parents and the wider community.
