BCR Global Textiles is a family run organisation specialising in the re-use and recycling of textiles.

The roots of the business go back as far as 1966 when Maureen Sault opened her own second hand clothing shop in Birmingham. This led to the creation of the Black Country Rag & Wiper Company, which was incorporated in 1985 and was established to sort and re-use unwanted clothing. Recognising the wider possibilities of re-usable clothing, the organisation worked with Cambridge County Council to pioneer the UK’s first textile recycling bank schemes.

Since 2002 when Maureen’s daughter Maxine took the helm, the company has rebranded as BCR Global Textiles Limited. BCR is now considered the UK’s premier textile re-use & recycling specialist working with many councils and charities, serving thousands of banks nationwide.

Maxine has developed a innovative cross circular education activity pack. To emphasis to children the impact the effect textile re-use & recycling has on the environment.

Maxine is constantly seeking new avenues to explore with regards to textile re-use and recycling and would welcome exploring new ideas with other interested parties.
